Cookie Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on OnCareful.co.uk, what they do, and how to control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as local storage, pixels and tags — work in comparable ways. We use them to keep the shop working, to understand how the site is used, and to measure our advertising.

Strictly necessary cookies

Set by our commerce platform (Shopify) and our checkout. They remember the contents of your basket, keep your session secure, apply fraud and abuse protection and let you complete an order. The shop cannot function without them, so they cannot be switched off through this site.

Analytics and session-behaviour cookies

We use Microsoft Clarity (project y3ifmjvrb7) to understand how visitors use our pages. Clarity records aggregated usage metrics, heatmaps of where people click and scroll, and anonymised session replays of on-site interactions such as clicks, scrolling and page navigation. It helps us find broken layouts and confusing steps — for example a product page that does not work properly on a phone.

Clarity masks text input by default, and we do not use it to capture what you type into forms, your card details or your password. Payment details are entered on our payment provider's field and are not accessible to it. Microsoft acts as a processor for this data; see Microsoft's privacy statement for how they handle it.

Advertising and measurement cookies

We use Google Ads tagging (conversion ID AW-18372958682) to measure whether visits from our adverts result in orders, and to report on advertising performance. This may involve Google setting cookies for conversion measurement and remarketing.

Third parties who set cookies through our site

  • Shopify — shop platform, basket and session, fraud protection
  • Microsoft Clarity — usage analytics, heatmaps and session replay
  • Google — advertising conversion measurement
  • Our payment provider — secure payment processing and fraud checks at the checkout step

How to control cookies

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout from working. You can also:

  • Adjust Google advert personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
  • Use your browser's private browsing mode, or an extension that blocks analytics scripts.

Do Not Track

Browsers vary in how they signal tracking preferences and there is no single agreed standard. Where a signal is passed to a third-party service we use, that service applies its own handling of it.

Changes

If we add or remove a service that sets cookies, we will update this page and the date at the top. If you have a question about anything listed here, ask us — we will tell you exactly what a given cookie does.
