How you can pay, and how your payment details are handled.

What we accept

We accept major debit and credit cards. The card types available to you are shown at the payment step. Bank transfer is available on request for larger orders — contact us before ordering if you would prefer to pay that way.

We only list payment methods we actually accept. If a method is not shown at checkout, we do not currently offer it.

Where your payment is taken

Payment is completed on checkout.oncareful.co.uk, our own secure checkout on the same domain as this shop. You are not being handed to an unrelated third-party seller — it is the same business, the same order and the same customer support team.

How your card details are handled

Card details are captured and processed by a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment provider over an encrypted connection. One Careful Owner never sees, handles or stores your full card number, and we do not store card details on our systems.

3-D Secure

Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment through 3-D Secure (for example Visa Secure or Mastercard Identity Check). This is a requirement of your bank, not an extra step we add, and it protects you against unauthorised card use.

When you are charged

Payment is taken when you place your order. You will receive an order confirmation by email. If a payment fails or is declined, no order is created — your bank may still show a temporary authorisation which drops off automatically.

Currency

All orders are charged in pounds sterling (GBP). If your card is issued outside the UK, your bank may apply its own conversion or foreign transaction fee, which we do not control and do not receive.

Suspected fraud

We may cancel and refund an order where a payment is flagged as high risk, or where we cannot verify the billing details. If your order is cancelled for this reason we will tell you and refund you in full.

We will never ask for your full card number, PIN or online banking password by email or telephone. See Website security.
